Matthew Splitstone
Accessibility Advocate at the Intersection of Finance and Service

About Me
I am a student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Gies College of Business and will graduate with my degree in Finance in December of 2024. I am proud to have been recognized as a Stamps Scholar, Gies Scholar, Chancellor’s Scholar, and James Scholar based on academics, leadership, service, and character.

I have many interests which I have been fortunate to explore during my years at UIUC. From a professional standpoint, I hope to continue to use the analytical and technical power of finance to help others achieve goals and personal fulfillment. I have built strong foundation for such a career by participating in groups like Illinois Enactus, for example, which strives to positively impact the community through entrepreneurial ventures; outside of campus, I have had summer internships in the nonprofit sector, corporate finance, and asset management, which have deepened my understanding of the broad applications of the tools of finance.
On a more personal note, as a wheelchair user, I am driven to help ensure that others are as fortunate as I have been here at UIUC regarding accessibility. I hope to see more people who use wheelchairs able to achieve all of their personal and professional goals despite their limitations, and I have enjoyed working with others at UIUC to make this goal a reality.
